Vet Set Go — the first and only community dedicated to aspiring teen and tween veterinarians — together with Merck Animal Health, are helping students pursue their dreams of becoming a veterinarian. Sixth- through eighth-grade students are invited to enter the fifth annual Vet Set Go “Become a Veterinarian Camp Contest 2021.” The online essay contest — which starts today — provides the students a chance to win a coveted spot at Auburn University’s Junior Vet Camp from July 11-16, 2021 at Auburn University College of Veterinary Medicine. Universal Studios Hollywood will take its first step in re-opening with the introduction of “Taste of Universal,” a fun and lively outdoor dining and shopping experience that takes place within select themed lands Friday through Sunday from noon to 7:00 p.m. (Rides, shows and attractions won’t be operational during this experience.) Guests can also preview The Secret Life of Pets: Off the Leash attraction shop The Pets Store, which contains favorite The Secret Life of Pets-themed goodies. Minion Way and Pets Place perpendicular streets, which are located adjacent to Illumination’s Despicable Me Minion Mayhem and the all-new The Secret Life of Pets: Off the Leash ride, will take guests on a stroll through the film’s New York City streets as they explore the themed environment. Among the park’s shopping options is The Animation Store, home to Hello Kitty and her friends from Sanrio. Physically distanced photo opportunities with some favorite characters will offer guests the chance to reconnect with Universal Studios Hollywood. This week focuses on educating pet parents on what can poison their pets, identifying the signs of poisoning and how to prevent it. It’s a good time to remember the springtime dangers of poisonous materials like plants, herbicides, fertilizers and pesticides. The ASCPCA lists many household products, foods and plants that can be toxic to pets. Visit the ASPCA Animal Poison Control website for information on how to keep your pet safe.
